Project completes on site, Wimbledon, this week. The six metre extension was designed with sedum roof, seamless Terazzo floor underfloor heated and three sets of folding sliding doors.

A six metre rear extension with an architectural sedum roof finishes on site, in Wimbledon.

The use of an architectural sedum roof, so the neighbour sees a green roof, from their rear and side first floor windows was proposed and agreed.

The design progressed with the preferred seamless floor finish, a "terazzo" like Mondeco floor finish applied by a specialist contractor.

The client preferred to relocate the spiral cellar increasing its depth after Building Control submission, and so the spiral cellar's engineers were asked to check the foundation design.

The kitchen was carefully detailed exactly as the client preferred, while AEW assisted by providing the client with bespoke door samples from Kronospan.

The project was designed as a large reception space, enabling the client to use this space for dancing with their friends. The proposals also included a new cloak and utility room.

There was a careful consideration of how the folding and sliding doors were to open, which sides of the opening they stacked.

The client had specific requirements with regard to their stepping out onto the terrace which was rehearsed with them.

The client also required facility pods with water, power and light half way down the garden as part of the external landscaping.

This project is now completed. Click here to see photos of the completed project.
