Ground floor wrap round extension with dormer loft conversion finishes on site, family move back in on programme.
The client for this project appointed Seth Handley architect, after they took up a reference from our designing, contract administering an extension for a friend of theirs.
AEW were successful in obtaining planning permission for a ground floor wrap around extension and loft conversion in this tricky London Borough and despite neighbour's objections.
The proposals incorporated an extension to the side equal to half the width of the original house wrapping around with a 3m rear extension.
The proposals also included a dormer loft conversion.
At the same time the mains water supply was re-newed from lead to polypropeline and low temperature hot water under floor heating incorporated for the ground floor.
The ground floor finish runs through from the external front door step through the hall and all ground floor rooms and onto the patio to the rear at the same level using a timber affect porcelain tile.
The new accommodation incorporates a guest bedroom to the front at ground level and w.c., utility room behind this, with the rest of the ground floor space occupied by the kitchen, dining and reception room.
The first floor incorporates the bathroom changed around with walls moved as requested, chimney projections removed from rooms.
The new second floor has a generous floor to ceiling height of 2.150m and incorporates a generous en-suite favoured by the client for use as the master bedroom.
Now the client has moved back into the property and is settling back down they appear very happy with all the badly needed extra space.
