AEW Obtain Planning Permission to extend a Listed Building in Roehampton Conservation Area, Wandsworth
This beautiful original 1850’s Victorian house with original untouched portico, pilasters and stucco had been in the same family since its construction and had not had any work done to it prior to this design being prepared. The brief of client was to extend to the side also incorporating the depth used at the rear by external water closet. Pre application consultation was undertaken and the Local Authority guidance was taken on board.
The design was modified as recommended by Wandsworth and was granted planning under Delegated Powers in February 2021. The planning team manager for this area of Wandsworth was complementary about AEW’s ability to adapt a design. The planning manager’s e-mail January 2021 said;
“I am delighted to see the amendments done exactly as we had discussed ... It also appears not to compromise your client’s living space either which is great....
Thanks again for your understanding and assisting in this case.
Kind regards,
Area Team Manager (West)
Planning and Transport Strategy,
Wandsworth Borough Council”
